The Web Island Privacy Policy describes how we treat personal information when you use Web Island's products
and services, including the information we receive when you use Web Island Extensions.
We are keenly aware of the trust you place in us and our responsibility to protect your privacy.
As part of this responsibility, we let you know what information we collect when you use our products and services,
why we collect it and how we use it to improve your experience.
Information we collect
- The Extensions operate by sending Web Island certain information about your machine and web sites at the time
you visit them, including the URL of the web site, your machine's IP address, and one or more Web Island cookies.
This data is retained in Web Island's server logs and maintained according to our Privacy Policy.
- Web Island may collect non-personal usage statistics about your installation of the Related extension,
such as the version number, language, and how often certain actions are taken in the extension.
These usage statistics do not include personal information such as your Web Island Account information,
email, or name.
When you’re on a secure site (https, bank, etc), it automatically goes to sleep.
Uses
- We process your requests in order to operate and improve Web Island Related, the Related extension, and other Web Island services. By sending Web Island the URL of the web page you are viewing, the Related extension can show you useful and interesting content related to the pages you're browsing.
Information security
- Any information sent to Web Island will be maintained in accordance with the Web Island Privacy Policy. Web Island's Privacy Policy does not cover information that you send to third party sites.
Your choices
- You may disable or uninstall the Related extension at any time through the Extensions menu. If you disable or uninstall the Related extension, information will no longer be sent to Web Island by the extension.
Privacy principles
We have five privacy principles that describe how we approach privacy and user information across
all of our products:
- Use information to provide our users with valuable products and services.
- Develop products that reflect strong privacy standards and practices.
- Make the collection of personal information transparent.
- Give users meaningful choices to protect their privacy.
- Be a responsible steward of the information we hold.
